Alliance Of Spite

Sleaszy Rider Records 2006

Do you feel an alliance of spite all around you? Do you feel the forces of evil conspiring against all good? Do you feel like everything nice about you, everything nice about the world is being undermined? I do...

It’s a secret war, one that has been going on for ages: The war between fire and ice. Ice stands for stagnancy, for no progress in terms of justice and equality, for a society of doom. Fire stands for movement, progress; for things moving forward into a society of human beings, of freedom, of quality and equality, a society of light.

So, are you a person in favor of fire? Do you want to live in a free world, or in what George Orwell so prophetically portrayed in his book “1984”? A world of Big Brother, of injustice, of terror, a world where privacy is being invaded and freedom is not taken for granted...? Oh, my...does it resemble ours yet? Oh, yes it does...

But how can we do anything at all about that? Don’t you feel alone? Don’t you feel that you’re helpless, unable to make any kind of change in this present state of the world? It’s true. No one of us can do anything to change things...by himself! The loneliness shrouding the lives of those who think, of those who can see beyond the obvious, of those who can assume, predict, contemplate, is the reason we are helpless.

A scholar, tutor of mine once told me: “God saveth us from those having complex and from fools”...in all my life I’ve never seized to find truth in that: Everyone fears a clear mind. Everyone who profits from mass hypnosis, and everyone who is being mass hypnotized, fear, hate and quarantine the clear mind and the pure soul. That’s why we end up alone, that’s why we are being cut off by society’s mainstream.

It’s what I call “the alliance of spite”...spite of evil against good, of dark souls against clear spirit, purity, kindness...spite of ugliness of spirit against beauty of the soul...Nietzsche once wrote that nature ought to make people glow. The bigger a person was, the brighter should he glow. I think he was wrong in a way. People do glow. That’s why society casts them out. The alliance of spite makes sure that they are pushed aside. The true spirit and clarity of a person’s mind and soul are inevitably evident, and make the others spiteful and hateful.

Aren’t you tired of all that yet? Don’t you want to have your appropriate place in current societies? Why isn’t anything happening towards that path?

You are to blame, guys! I see everybody around me trying to make a stand in life, trying to “make it”, but not having dreams. And people without dreams, can never win a war against ice. You see, life is not only about surviving, or making lots of money, not about consuming, impressing others with expensive cars and big houses. Life is about creating. And making the world a better place. How can the world be better, with people who don’t dream of making it one?

You know, in ancient Athens, there was a wise philosopher named Socrates, probably the greatest philosopher of all time. You know what he did? He taught the sons of the richest families of Athens about virtue; about morality. He believed that if the powerful people of society were scrupulous and virtuous, this society would be more just, more humane, and more evolved. Is this utopia? I don’t think so. Do you know what I consider extremely stupid? John Lennon’s song “Imagine”! Can I change the world by imagining? By doing drugs and wishing it all was different? And ok, the guy tried to make people say “hey, imagine that happening, so let’s try it”...nothing happened since then though...because they kept imagining, smoking pot and thinking “what the fuck, I’ll go on with my life”.

Action is the key. Power is the way. Empower. Become someone big .Let’s be frank, and realistic: The world will not change with protest rallies, nor standing in front of tanks, like in Greece 30 years ago, and Tiananmen Square, not so long ago...these were acts of courage, by men whose glow still glides over our heads. Nevertheless, we need to act differently in order to gain power. How? And what is power? But knowledge, money, climbing up the chain of command, occupying “key positions”...how do we do that? Nobody said it was easy. It’s not gonna happen by watching reality shows, playing video games, doing drugs and being indifferent to what happens to the rest of the world. Ideas are a big deal, ideals too, but action is the key, dreams and the constant pursuit of them becoming true is the first step.

Don’t you have dreams? Did you ever have any? Did any of you try to become someone? Did any succeed? And after succeeding, did your ideals shift? You see, integrity is the key in order to not change sides in this war. There’s always the risk of “making it” and, having solved your problems, stop worrying about the world, or even becoming one of the “ice” people.

Nobody asks you to stop enjoying life, or sacrifice anything. On the contrary: I urge you to dream, to try and improve your present and your future, and your children’s. I urge you to try as hard as you can to become distinguished in this world. In a future society, if “key positions” are occupied by scrupulous people of “fire” , if ministers of defense, university professors, multinational corporation’s managers, actors, singers, journalists, lawyers, legislators, attorneys, doctors are people with pure soul, people of free spirit, righteous, good...won’t the world be a different place, a better place? And won’t these people have better lives just because they would have tried hard for that? And if more and more people of fire try that, isn’t it only logical that even if the percentage of them who actually succeed is the same as now, it will be a percentage out of a larger number, therefore an actually larger number than now?

And if we cannot get this high up, if it is too late for some of us, let’s make a plan for our children. Never forget that we do live within a war, and that we must protect our children, and also make them not soldiers, but chiefs and generals in the future. Stop being a pawn, become someone who can do more. And remember: By wishing and imagining nothing ever changes. We need to act.

The first step to gain power is knowledge. Acquire it, nourish and harvest it. Study, get educated, but don’t become the educated fool. Cultivate your mind, never stop thinking, never seize to see behind the lines, never seize to stay awakened and don’t let knowledge or science become your only goal. Let it open your mind; let it be the cornerstone of an enquiring way of thinking, of a fulfilling way of life.

The second step is to get rid of the dumb – box: The TV! Get rid of all the rubbish they keep feeding you, in order to mesmerize you. Get rid of reality shows, “talent” shows, fake news, phony artists, fake athletic events of doped athletes and setup matches.

Dream, for God’s sake! Dream! And fight for that dream, till your last ounce of breath. Never give up. And never give up your integrity, your ideals. We need a society of good people running things...what we have so far is a society of good people living in the shadows, or in protest, a society where insipidity, ugliness and vulgarity are the majority rule, while true spirit, talent and beauty are being undermined and aspersed.

We cannot and should not let jealousy, advisability, lack of meritocracy, malice and spite run our lives. Be someone they can’t harm, be someone powerful, someone who can crush as many of them possible.

It’s not going to be easy. Becoming acknowledged and distinguished are not easy things to do. But that’s our fight, our goal. We need to fight for a way of life that is right! The alliance of spite will be in our way all the time, making things impossible for us. You will fall, you will bleed, you will feel disappointed and like giving up. Many times along the way you are going to wonder if it’s worth it. And I tell you: it’s worth every damn drop of blood, every breath and every sigh. Whenever you fall, whenever you lose a fight, whenever you are stopped by mean, ugly, spiteful intentions, don’t give up! Just yell: “Bring the pain!! Bring on the pain I tell ya!! Bring the tears!! Bring the hate!!”
